Literature Text

The vagabond, Valliard Rosenhill, sits in a room with an elder man named Danvi Altora. The older man was sitting as he strokes his beard. They were talking about the events that had lead Valliard to Baldur's Gate. Danvi wore a chef's apron indicating that he's a cook. While the peripatetic wore a long cloak, and his usual plumped hat. With the wanderer's sword unlatched to his belt; on the ground next to him.

"I see, so the rumors are true then." Danvi began, "I am sorry Sir Hellsing, but my company is no longer mercenaries." He moves his hand in a show of disappointment, "For we cannot aid you in the battle against Micheal Blackbent."

Valliard grabs his sword in his left hand, "No need to apologize Sir Altora." He stands as he equips his weapon and hides his expression underneath his hat. "It was wrong of me to ask you to do something involving a ghost from my past." He then begins to leave the room, as he does, he tilts his head towards Danvi Altora and says, "And please, don't tell Miss Elsa about Sir Andorran."

Stroking his beard with thought, he agrees, "Understood, I do think that would be wise."

As the wanderer walks down the hall and then descends from the stairs, a young woman wearing a waitress uniform was ascending. She had food and spoke to Valliard. The vagabond stopped when the girl began to speak.

"Hey, Rosenhill," the young woman named Elsa says; trying to get Valliard's attention. She then notices that Valliard was silent, and that could only mean one thing. "Are you leaving?" Elsa asks in a slight tone of anger. "Why? Is it because we found out that you're Hellsing the Man-Slayer?" He didn't answer, and she threw the food onto the ground in frustration. "It was in the past Rosenhill, and your past doesn't matter!"

Valliard stopped hiding his expression; he seems to be smiling as he spoke. "Funny, a woman in NeverWinter said the same thing when I first met her." He then continues his descent, "I had to leave her behind, for this is my battle."

Elsa ran to her grandfather, Danvi. "Grandfather!" She shouts as she barges into the room, "Rosenhill is leaving!"

Sighing with great sorrow in his voice, he informs Elsa about Valliard's decision. "Elsa, you must understand that Valliard isn't your typical young man, he's had a life of strife and there's only more to come."

"I don't care!" The girl exclaims. "He's a good man, and he's only done what is right! Why should he suffer like this?"

"You still don't get it! Valliard has an important job to do for the fate of our new and young world." Danvi stood and tries to place a comforting hand on Elsa's shoulders, only for it to be blocked. "I implore you to not get any more involved in this than you already are." The elder says this with great worry in his heart.

The fiery young woman then explodes in anger, "I don't think you get it grandfather! He vowed to never kill again since the revolution!"

Danvi was caught off guard by that. "And yet he's going to try and kill another Man-Slayer?"

"Exactly! He feels alone right now, he left his friends behind in NeverWinter to do this!" Elsa then sprints into the streets. Her thoughts raced, I'm still going after him! He's not alone; he has me to help him. Here in Baldur's Gate, in the Frozen North, NeverWinter he had someone he left behind, Rosenhill needs someone!

Meanwhile outside, an elven woman and another man sit on the bench in the crowded city of Baldur's Gate. The woman wears a dress that's red and white, while the man is hooded and remains a mystery.

"I don't see Valliard anywhere." The elven woman, Raina, proclaims. The hooded man, Forvur, points to a familiar armored knight of NeverWinter. Andorran Peagus, the man who fought Valliard not too long ago is still around. "He must know where Valliard is!" Raina shouts as the two chase after the knight in the crowded streets.

Forvur then asks Raina, "How do you know that this man can lead us to Valliard? What if he's as lost as us?"

Raina continues to chase Andorran through a large crowd of people, "I know because he and Valliard have to work together. They're after the same guy, meaning they can't be too far apart." She looks back to see that, Forvur, is desperately trying to catch up. When she looks back, Andorran was gone; out of her sight. She still continues to search for Andorran once Forvur caught up. Her search was blind, however.

Elsa continues to go after Valliard, even in the large crowd of people she went after him. He's the only one, She thought, he's the only one who can lead me back to Andorran! Elsa begins to shout, "Now, stop Rosenhill!" Elsa then lost sight of Valliard, and continues to run, ignorant of the vagabond's whereabouts.

As Raina searches for Andorran, she didn't realize that she passed Valliard in the crowd. And all the while, Elsa looked for Valliard; didn't notice that Andorran walked passed her. Moments later, Forvur, Raina, and Elsa bumped into one another. Getting up, Forvur looks at Raina, and Elsa who were recovering from their run in.

"I'm terribly sorry." Rain said as she stood.

Elsa, ignoring her, looks up at the crowd and shouts, "ROSENHILL, YOU GET BACK HERE YOU SCRAWNY LITTLE BASTARD!"

Raina looks at Elsa with hopeful tears welding in her eyes, "Do you know Valliard?" She asks as the elf holds the young woman gently. "Do you know, Valliard Rosenhill?"

As she looked at the tearful elf's face, Elsa thinks to herself, Is this the person... that Rosenhill mentioned?
